Zeng Chuanxing : Realism throughout women

Zeng Chuanxing is a Chinese artist, born in Longchang County, Sichuan Province in 1974. 

He has became famous thanks to his realist paintings of girls and women in paper brides dresses. Minority girls are a major theme of his paintings.

In 1993 worked for one year as a teacher in Sichuan Longchaag County Jieshi town Middle School.
From 1995 to 1998 he studied oil painting at the Central University for Nationalities, in China. In 1996, his "Cattle Head" sketch of still life, is collected by Fine Arts Department of this University.

From 1999 to 2000 Zeng has worked as a teacher in Sichuan Luzhou Normal College and then he quit the Job and open the studio in Xiang Hill Beijing

In 2000, Zeng won the copper medal in The First Exhibition of China Oil Painting and five years later his "Black Woman of Miao" oil painting, won the copper medal in the 6th Bai Hua Prize of Nationalities, in Beijing Cultural Palace of Nationalities.

Zeng's style is classical realistic paintings. He tends to focus more on his characters' eyes and hands, as he believe that eyes and hands vividly and truly reflect a human being's soul. they are often depicted quiet and kind of melancholic, a feeling projected by the brown or greyish blue backgrounds. Zeng is expert at passing on his feelings and attitudes towards life through the tone of colors. 

His works have been published by the New York Times, The Sun, the China Daily and many other recognized newspapers and magazines.
